For the past 10 years Julian has been involved in with a series of national, regional and international environmental branding projects. Julian is a committee member of both the AWA Water Efficiency Specialist Network and the IWA Public & Customer Communications Specialist Group, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. |

Prior to joining Gibsons, Steve acted in a variety of senior commercial and general management roles over his professional career principally within the manufacturing sector. Over the last 11 years Steve has been working as a business consultant providing strategic, marketing and human resource assistance to small to medium enterprises across Queensland. Steve has successfully consulted across a range of industries including manufacturing, mining services, construction and environmental management. |

Time: 09:30 - 10:30 hrs Speaker: Katrina Layt Topic: Australian Native Plants for Harsh Green Roofs Katrina has been involved in various research projects including green roof and wall trials, plants in playground mulch, carbon trials and turf research while working for Ozbreed the past four years. These trials aim to find out how plants and turf can be used in different situations, and which ones perform best in those conditions. |
Time: 09:30 - 10:30 hrsSpeaker: Paul Dignam Topic: Leading a Business in Challenging Times Paul qualified as a civil engineer and began work in the construction industry in 1972. His career developed over the next 25 years in marketing and general management positions across a variety of industries in Australia and South East Asia.He has a range of skills across a wide spectrum of disciplines including marketing, manufacturing, system development, logistics, technical, financial, HR and compliance issues. Since 2004, he has been applying his years of experience in industry back into the consulting arena. He specialises in providing practical advice from both the strategic and operational perspectives, to government and private organisations. His assignments have included developing strategic plans and systems development advice; mentoring business owners in managing organisation change and culture development; and providing marketing advice and process reviews. He also regularly provides advice to small and medium businesses through the Qld Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry’s Mentoring for Growth Program. |

Speaker: Shane Tilby Topic: Fuel Tax Credit - Helping you get it rightShane Tilby is from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and is currently a project officer involved in the implementation of the indirect tax aspects of the Clean Energy measures. The tax aspects relate to the fuel tax credit and excise amendments as well as the GST implications of the measures. Shane has been involved in the administration of fuel tax credits and the preceding fuel schemes for over a decade. |
